[Gallery Talk Announcement]
Naganori Tanaka Photo Exhibition "WIEN KODACHROME 70's"
Chotoku Tanaka x Tatsuro Kotaki
This gallery talk will be a dialogue between two photographers who have been friends for nearly half a century since meeting at Zeit Foto Salon, Japan's first independent photography gallery, which opened in Nihonbashi, Tokyo, in the late 1970s.
This photo exhibition, "WIEN KODACHROME 70's," will feature newly selected prints by photographer Tatsuro Kotaki from the original positive film shot by Chotoku Tanaka in the 1970s.
During the talk, they will discuss the unique shooting techniques and printing technology of Kodachrome, as well as the film that holds a special meaning for them, and Vienna, where the photos were taken.
Furthermore, the two photographers, who have been photographing the city for many years, will share the trajectory of their relationship from when they first met to the present, as well as Nagatoku's secrets of snapshot photography, including "the art of photography without a theme," making this a truly intimate evening.

■Content Introduction
A photo exhibition will be held to coincide with the publication of Tanaka Chotoku's new photo book.
Tanaka has admired the work of his beloved Walker Evans ever since he came across his photo book "First and Last" during his stay in Vienna. Half a century later, Tanaka, now of the same generation as Evans, has decided to publish an anthology of his own career. This exhibition will feature monochrome works taken in Tokyo, Vienna, Prague, New York and other cities from the 1960s to the 2010s. Please enjoy this work, which can be considered the culmination of the artist's many years of photographing all over the world, in the form of precious vintage prints from that time.
*Approximately 60 monochrome works (gelatin silver prints) will be exhibited.
■The photo book will be released exclusively at Gallery Bauhaus.
■All vintage prints in this exhibition will be for sale in limited editions, however some items will not be available for sale.
